It's evident now
Mo farah will never be the same
I blame the money for this
RIP Mr Farah , it was nice ride while it lasted

unclear on both counts. I took it as a bad sign when he collapsed at the end of the NYC Half, and that happened before he ran the marathon. And it's still too soon to know whether he'll ever get back to his 2011-2013 form.
I find the recent hospitalization worrisome - it could turn out the guy has some kind of serious health problem.
It's a very curious situation.I think he's under a tremendous amount of stress these days. It may not be the marathon itself, but a combination of overtraining, stress, and fatigue related symptoms.

He'll be like lagat after 2007, downhill, and nobody here can disagree with that
I love Mo to death but truth has to be told
you wont see 2011-2013 Mo I repeat you WONT see that Mo
money is truly the mother of all evil
I'm glad we all agree
He still closed in what, a 52s 400m during a 13:2x 5k just a month or two ago... I don't think his career is over unless he wants it to wind down. He's got lots of money and 3 kids (?) now, so he may want to.
Saying that he won't dominate the track lack he did for 2 years isn't much of a prediction... Almost no one dominates for more than a few years.
Not saying it's over, he is just, for sure, past his peak

That 5k shows that he can still come back. There's no one who pops out as dominant in the 5 or 10k this year. Rupp's certainly strong in the 10k, but he's not as good at the 5k.
The Ethiopians have been running 13 flat 5ks with 55 last laps, which isn't going to cut it. Alamirew's the most consistent, but he's lost a lot too. Gebrhiwet has been looking pretty bad this year, his only good performance being a 13:11 5k with a high 53 last lap, which, again, isn't astounding. Gebremeskel has only appeared on the circuit once and he didn't look good there.
From Kenya, they really do lose a lot of long distance talent to the marathon. Caleb Ndiku looks to be their strongest in the 5k, but he didn't really look good in his last showing at Paris. We'll get more insight into how good he is at Commonwealths. Paul Tanui looked good in the 10k at Pre and he placed well at the Paris 5k, but, again, nothing astonishing. Edwin Soi has run the first sub 13 of the year, but he's been around for a while. He can't have that many years left. Except for Sambu, I can't think of any other Kenyans who have done that well on the world scene. (Longosiwa too, I guess)
So, if I'm looking at things correctly, results this year have not been out of control. This could be because the East Africans aren't taking this year that seriously without a global championship, or perhaps it's because of the favorite explanation of LRCers (they're off the juice) However, looking at the results this year, I would say that Farah's chance of returning to being a world beater and gold medalist favorite to be decently good.

Soi is three years younger than Farah, the same age as Rupp.
The guy ran 3:28 last year in the 1500 and was completely dominant over every distance through 10000 and now he's done because he ran one marathon? Ridiculous.

Sometimes the stupidity on LR is just too much.

Heh, definitely this. Hopefully English isn't the OP's first language. I'm guessing it isn't.

Yeah but what's that in Kenyan-years
Mo can say goodbye to any WRs, that's for sure. However, I think that if mo stays away from the marathon I think he still has another number 1 year on the track. London was his worst mistake.
