I've personally seen an increase in the number of people who are negative towards me when I run past them. I'm 100% sure they wouldn't react the same way if I jogged slowly past, but they seem to be offended or annoyed by the speed/intensity of my training (compared to most joggers they see I assume). Share your stories about people who react negatively to you simply because you're out running fast, or when they find out you're a competitive runner.
I'm not talking about the morons who shout insults from their cars, but rather those people who are genuinely upset or disapproving of your running and have expressed it in some way. I hope that makes sense.
I'm genuinely puzzled by this negativity. I'm always very polite to everyone I see, and it's not like I'm buzzing too close to them at 4:40 pace.
