Some may say Colorado because of the altitude, others Oregon because of the gear, but what do you say?

Oregon has more than gear

A lot goes into picking your dream college including your event, personality, talent level, potential, and most importantly post-collegiate aspirations. Nick Symmonds went to Willamette, ran great, and seems well-prepared for life after sports. I doubt you'll find Nick for endless hours on this forum voting on who he thinks "cheats".

I fully concur.
Harvard, because it's Harvard, and the name still means something to employers.
Or, Michigan, because it's Michigan
Unless you're going to be a top college athlete, pick the school that fits your academic needs and wants the best, has a climate you like, you can afford, and is related (either they have or is geographically close) to things you like to do or watch.
For me the good SEC and ACC schools make a lot of sense (fine academics at many, decent weather if you stay out of FL, TX, MS, AL, GA, have good football and basketball, all are usually the "center" of the city they're in, and are large enough to have good programs across a variety of disciplines. If I had a do over, I'd go to University of Virginia, NC State, or Clemson.
If you want an uppity Ivy liberal arts waste of money college experience, Dartmouth is beautiful and the White Mountains are fantastic. However, you'll die in winter.

One more Stanford vote
I already could choose any college. But to have it all paid for or to have a varsity spot, I'd first choose Oxford to live in a brilliant place without sacrificing academics.
If I wanted to pursue running further, I'd choose Stanford. Cornell is a seriously attractive choice, too.
FSU!
one of the Claremont colleges.
if its strictly for academics and money weren't an issue, I'd say Stanford or an Ivy League.
If hypothetically I were good enough to compete on the xc/track team, I'd pick Stanford.
