so I'm sure this is something that happens to other runners - I have to pee a lot on off-days. I sweat a lot normally, so 6 days of the week I sweat out several pounds' worth of water. Then on my off-day, I suddenly have all this extra water in me with nowhere to go.
I don't mind peeing, but there are a couple problems associated with this. 1) I'll often wake up in the middle of the night after an off-day having to pee, which disrupts my sleep, and 2) it seems like I'm always dehydrated the next morning when I wake up. If I drink much less water on the off-day, I'll end up more dehydrated the next morning. If I drink more water the night before, I'll just wake up having to pee twice instead of once.
Have any of you peers found a good solution to this? I know an obvious solution is to do something that makes me sweat, but I like my off-days to not have much physical activity, and I hate just sitting around sweating (like saunas). I'm thinking of trying the following:
-run on day 6
-rehydrate immediately afterwards
-then don't drink much water the rest of the day/night
stay fairly dehydrated on the off day, then towards the end start drinking more water
