I have recently (past 8 months) been diagnosed with spinal osteoarthritis and have not been able to run regularly. I can run from time to time but nothing consistent (anywhere from 0-4x a week for about an hour each time). I have been gaining weight. I'm 5' 11.5 and raced around 160. I am probably 185 right now. I don't really eat a lot but I need to figure out how to lose weight from my diet. I went to some weight lifting nutritionist but she put me on some program of eating seven times a day and that did not work for me. my weight loss always came from activity not my diet. Not to mean that I ate like crap or that I do eat like crap, I just mean that I didn't diet. I don't drink soda and I'm not into fried food or snacking. I am willing to do extreme things no problem. I'd like to lose as much weight as possible as quickly as possible in hopes that it can take some pressure of of my back and allow me to train again. I have tried yoga and actually my injury ( the flare up ) occurred in yoga so I can't really do that right now. I can swim but the truth is I love running and just want to be able to run. I live on the west coast so weather is always good and year round running is no problem. I'm in my early 40s if it matters to anyone. It's been a real drag not being able to run and I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks.
