I am currently in the process of applying for a coaching position at a major DI program. The thing I have learned while working as a GA and volunteer is that the head coach usually has the final call in the hiring process. However, most of the jobs you see on the NCAA Job Market have you apply through the university or email human resources.
If a job ask you to apply directly through the university or through athletic human resources, should you still send an email or try and get a hold of the head coach as well? Or is there some rule where the head coach is not allowed to talk to potential candidates until all the applications are in?
Thanks for any advice!
