Does anyone get ads like the above here? I find it really disconcerting.

Yeah I got that shit, Letsrun is making advertisement deals with porn sites now. Maybe SFH infiltrated Letsrun and authorized this behind rojo's back, hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes...pretty annoying...wife thinks I am searching for women and is already pissed I spend time on LetsRun as it is...as a result, I have spent much less time on the site.
Even worse is that I don't even attempt to go to LetsRun from work anymore...
Thanks Wejo and Rojo - you have increased my work productivity, made me spend more time with family and less time on your site ;)

Message board advertisements aren't determined by the brojos, the are determined by your web browsing habits. HABITS -- not one off viewing of Jessica Biel butt -- your pattern of web activity.
If you don't want your mom/wife/boss to be receiving advertising for sexual content then go to your browser settings and delete all cookies OR stop visiting pornographic websites.
Not true. I got the boobs ad just by clicking on this thread. And being as how I'm a female, I don't ever visit boob sites, or porn sites.
I'm mad that I don't get those advertisements.

he believes you get what you browser for because he gets 100% porn-type ads when he is on the lrc

Malmo, this was what I believed too, and so was obviously shocked when these types of advertisements started showing up while browsing LR from my phone as I don't view pornographic websites. I cleared ALL history, cookies, data, temp files, AND reset "advertising identifier" (a new feature with iOS7) to get a clean start. These ads still appeared when viewing the boards, even when turning on a "limit as tracking" feature. My son occasionally uses this phone for browsing, and does use this website, so it is upsetting to say the least.

In the publisher dashboards of popular networks there are a number of utilities to fine tune what is being served to end users. In AdSense there are on-off switches to allow or block certain banner types. These are the "Sensitive Categories" of ads that most people disallow:
allow | block Black Magic, Astrology & Esoteric
allow | block Cosmetic Procedures & Body Modification
allow | block Dating
allow | block Drugs & Supplements
allow | block Get Rich Quick
allow | block Politics
allow | block References to Sex & Sexuality
allow | block Religion
allow | block Ringtones & Downloadables
allow | block Sexual & Reproductive Health
allow | block Video Games (Casual & Online)
allow | block Weight Loss
A sing along example:
If you were to search "weight loss" on google and land on an e-commerce website, buy a supplement and checkout and then resume browsing the web there's the potential you could see boobs in an advertisement on the next website. Why? You never saw it but the e-commerce website you just bought "green coffee bean extract" from also sells Spanish Fly and Male Enhancement products. Google has indexed the e-commerce site with "spanish fly for women" & "extenze for men" as the most relevant keywords and knows (Google tools, analytics, etc) you transmitted "POST" data on a checkout page on that particular website. A safe assumption is made that you purchased something from a supplement website which also has a high ranking for Sexual & Reproductive Health keywords. Continuing on, you type in letsrun.com - who recently allowed sensitive categories in attempt to boost the abysmal earnings for the revenue dry month of July (recommendation from Google's dashboard to "allow more categories to increase earnings") - and there are the boobs that Google's algorithms determined you might be willing to buy.

Among other things I have checked out prices for SUVs, been keeping track of my protein count and I am always searching for various exercise equipment & apparel. My ads actually make sense.
