Little background about the competitors: A was a high 14:XX 5K guy that's way out of running shape, although not weight shape. If A were to run a 5k now, 17:30 would be an amazing feat. B was a collegiate soccer player who is out of running shape, but generally pretty fit, although at his top fitness he struggled to break 12 minutes in a 2mile time trial. B works out somewhat regularly and plays soccer every once in awhile with a few runs sprinkled in.
Both competitors work on the 35th floor of a skyscraper. The challenge is as follows: A has to run up to his floor once a week until he breaks 10 minutes. Once he breaks 10 minutes, B has to run up to the same floor until he breaks 15 minutes.
My question to you LR, is this: which competitor would you rather be? Should the competitors adjust the time thresholds to make it more fair?
