So I'm new to running. I had done Track and Field during my Sophomore year in high school, wasn't too great at it, only was able to hit a 5:35 mile time, but I at least worked for it. My coach for distance said I would be a good fit for Cross Country, so I decided to join the Cross Country team. Before practiced had started, I decided to run a 5k to see where I was at. I got a 20:30, which my coach said was a minute faster than his expectation. This was about 2 months back, and since then I have been running 6 days a week. My mileage has been at around 35 miles, with 10 mile runs on one day of the week in order to build more endurance. My coach started to introduce me to hills and speed workouts about 2 weeks back, which I think can help my training. Usually the pace of my runs from around 4-6 miles I do during the rest of the week are generally around a 7:40 pace to an 8:20 pace. My question is that, does anyone think it is possible for my to achieve a 19 minute 5k or faster?
