SOLINSKY'S BACK BABY!!!
I thought he was/is training for the marathon? Is that changing?

That's actually pretty good; I would say its almost as good as Hasay's recent 1500. - It's starting to look like Sol is on a legit come back.

We updated the first post with results.Seeing Solinsky (and German) struggle the last few years has been a real bummer for me as a fan.
But when I saw this result the other day, I was like "isn't he training for a marathon?"
I think trying to feel good and fast again is fine. Do this, then a week off and start a marathon buildup, but isn't it kind of late?
This would indicate to me that Chicago is not in the cards. Chicago is 13 weeks out. New York is 16 weeks. Has he announced a marathon?
I guess instead of speculating I could just ask Schumacher but speculating is half the fun isn't it?

I agree, it's rad to see him racing and improving, building confidence, but it's odd to see him racing 1500s when he's been talking about marathons.
Maybe he's going to target a spring marathon?
We highly recommend David Montis' Race Results Weekly Service.

On Monday, we always look through it to find results across the globe.
Here is another depressing one we found from a big-time US talent. Robby Andrews 3:45 for 1500 from Italy on July 8th. Hope that Gags and a return to a 'team' setting would suddenly resurrect him are dissipating. Looks like it's going to be a longer process than we hoped for as fans.
1500m:
1. Manuel OLMEDO, 1983, ESP, 3:37.84
2. Ryan GREGSON, 1990, AUS, 3:38.20
3. Jeff RISELEY, 1986, AUS, 3:38.41
4. Julian MATTHEWS, 1988, NZL, 3:38.88
5. Collis BIRMINGHAM, 1984, AUS, 3:39.21
6. Michael RUTT, 1987, USA, 3:40.46 PB
7. Alvaro RODRIGUEZ, 1987, ESP, 3:40.75
8. Andreas DIMITRAKIS, 1990, GRE, 3:40.91
9. Pat CASEY, 1990, USA, 3:41.24
10. Moh ABDIKADAR SHEIK ALI, 1993, ITA, 3:41.41
11. Carlos ALONSO GARCIA, 1989, ESP, 3:42.74
12. Ross MURRAY, 1990, GBR, 3:43.63
13. Mohamed Amine BELFARER, 1991, ALG, 3:44.05 PB
14. Soufiane EL KABBOURI, 1993, ITA, 3:45.71
15. Robby ANDREWS, 1991, USA, 3:45.91
16. Giovanni BELLINO, 1988, ITA, 3:46.14
17. Najibe Marco SALAMI, 1985, ITA, 3:49.37
18. Merihun CRESPI, 1988, ITA, 3:49.60
Daniel STOCKBERGER, 1988, USA, DNF
Surprisingly not stellar from Casey, but nice PR for the 800m specialist Rutt.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but Andrews seems to be trying hard and struggling aerobically even off of a moderate pace. He can't explode any more because he appears tired halfway into the race. Because of his raw speed deficit, I always figured he would struggle in world class 800m races which go out in 50 point and every body is running the last 100m in 12 seconds. You can't kick down anyone who has just as good a kick and you are spotting them 20 meters. I know that was going to happen, but at world relays he only went out in 53 ish and still did not have any pop in his legs. From what I recall, Gags is not a big high altitude guy, but that might be what Andrews needs to get his strength up.
How do collegains like Callahan get around Europe to do these races? Do they just pay for it out of pocket or is their school footing the bill?
amazing that gregson's still only 24 this year. This 3:38 follows up his recent near pr of 1:46. This 1500 time doesn't seem as indicative of his shape but we'll see if he gets into a fast one.
I just use flowtrack for results as they have all of then linked. Ironically it's free and Monty's isn't. I know you all don't get along but it seems a bit biased to promote multiple sites that make money off track meets live or race results. I'm pro supporting track, love Letsrun, love flotrack, tolerate runnerspace...the more the better and you all should get paid to improve our sport. If Letsrun offered a premium membership and broadcasted meets id pay for that.
He (Solinsky) is getting there. 5 secs improvement.

No, this is nowhere even close to Hasay's time...
Hasay's time is 2 seconds off the A standard, Chris's is 11
I didn't realize Juan Carlos Higuero was still at it. Does anyone know why he fell off the face of the earth?
Callahan is out of eligibility. used his 5th year at UM right?
Casey has been racing alot, probably just tired. he just ran 3:52 or something right?
looking at that Sol race....JAPAN IS COMING IN THE 1500!!!

Not really. Kawauchi always does 1500m races before marathons. Maybe Chris is taking some inspiration from him, finally.
Do you have any specific "world class 800m races which go out in 50 point and every body is running the last 100m in 12 seconds" in mind? Even one specific race?

Parents would be paying for this (not UNM).
Remember AJ Acosta thanking his parents for funding his European sojourn....certainly wasn't thanking U. Oregon.
Besides not within NCAA rules.
Does anyone know why German DNF'D?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
