Hey guys I currently live in Australia, I'm 16 years old and realized I am pretty fast, I did my school athletics meet a few days ago and got times of:
800m: 2:19
1500: 4:28
5000m: 17:12
do you think I could potentially get a scholarship in the US and how much would I need to train?

just keep training. shoot for 15:30ish in the 5000m then ask this question here again in like 2 years

so I can get to a good school like Duke or UNC and walk on to there bball team obviously, nobody runs to actually run
its the worst thing, it just hurts and ruins your life
Once you run about 22 seconds faster in the 8, you will be faster than me and good enough to maybe walk on D1
Don't listen to these jerks, your longer distances are pretty good but your 800 time might need to drop just a bit around 2:05 ish or under and if you could get in the 16's for your 5k then you should get one, grades are an important factor as well, probably the most important factor but yeah you could probably get a scholarship applying these goals. Man I hate to take the bait but I have been wanting to say this for a long time now. NO you are not going to get a scholarship with times like that! Now if you improve then maybe, only maybe. There are lots of American boys that are that fast so why would we give an international kid money?? I am a college coach and yes I have internationals on my team, but only kids who are better than an american kid I could have a shot at getting.If I could get 30:00 10k talent american kids I would but you can not always find them with the little money I have at me school.
