Don't listen to these jokers.
I went to an Ivy League school, and trust me, you will get good looks from almost all of them. Columbia and Princeton may not be interested, but all the others will almost certainly invite you to visit (as will Columbia & Princeton, most likely). You have GREAT speed for a 9:30 guy...you DEFINITELY have potential to score at Heps if you train hard and smart in the right program!
Ivy wise, your best bets are probably going to be Penn, Brown, Cornell, and Dartmouth. Yale and Harvard are also probably fine and will be interested, but have slightly tougher admissions standards for athletes, and Yale has fewer admissions spots for athletes.
A few words of wisdom...
1) Do well on your SAT IIs. They actually matter quite a bit. 2060 is solid, as is your 3.5-3.6 GPA (unweighted, right?). But your academic index number is calculated based on your GPA, SAT I, AND SAT II...so do well on those SAT IIs.
2) As an athlete, nothing really matters aside from your academic index number, your times, and you not having any red flags. It's great that you have other good extra circulars, but honestly, they don't really matter as an athlete...
...HOWEVER. 3) You are correct in that you have an okay shot at these schools without track - being 1/2 black is HUGE for you. If you decided to pursue Columbia without athletic support (which is the one school you mentioned where it's 50-50), those solid extra circulars WILL matter.
4) Don't be a tool on your visits...being a good fit for the team, personality wise, matters.
5) You'll have an easier time with D1 than D3...athletics helps more in D1
6) Email the coaches at the schools you're interested in ASAP! They will respond and want you!!!
Good luck...and stop using that user name (for reasons similar to #4 above)
