So I'm going to be a freshman in high school but I'm already almost 5'10" and I'm pretty far along in puberty. I don't have total facial hair, except for a mustache that I have to shave every few days, but no face whiskers yet.
I've read all this stuff about not getting much better if I've already gone through puberty and that the kids who were small as freshman and grew a lot got a lot better. Did anyone in my situation still improve a lot in high school?
In middle school I ran 15-20 miles a week and this summer I'm up to between 30 and 35 so far. I'm pretty competitive and focused person, so I know I'll train hard through high school but I would like to hear some stories from people who didn't have much growth left when they got to high school to see how much they improved. My doctor thinks I'll probably grow 2 or 3 more inches. My PR in 8th grade was 4:55 for 1600. In 6th grade, when I first started running, I was only 5'3" and my 1600 was 5:50, then in 7th grade I was about 5'7" and my 1600 was 5:16. In 6th and 7th grade I ran about 15 miles per week but not the whole year round.
Do you think there's a chance I'll still be able to drop 40-45 seconds in 4 years since I already had my growth spurt?
