She's done running isn't she?
Just gonna blog and tweet and cash in on her old fame.
The next Fleshman. Sad.
Because planning for life after running is sad? Sounds smart to me.
I think she has retreated from the podium as far as she possibly can.
There's nothing wrong with this, and nothing new. Some of you folks just need to complain
Can I watch?
was thinking the same thing, wood go

It is a safe place/no judgment zone. Can you be down with that?

It's a little hard to take a person seriously charging gullible women $1,200 for "a weekend of friendship, running, wine, and empowerment." And a speech from Adam Goucher about "living the extraordinary life"! Let me save you the money: Spend a few years on a middling professional career and then live off your wife's marketability. Extraordinary!
the fierce little flock of angry birds loves kara and wants to be her friend; she fuc-s sh-t up!
Yeah I have to agree with some of this. What is so extraordinary about running around a track or road for a living and then when you are too old/injured you try to profit off of the star-struck masses?
Adam Goucher was a great college runner but he certainly hasn't done much other than run.
But you can't really blame them for trying to cash in on their fame. Many people do it.
will adam bring his little elliptigo? will kara wear buns and flash abs? will adam ever get a job? will kara sport her magic bracelet?
tune in next week to find the answers

One day you too will be past your prime.
At least you'll have your stellar personality to fall back on!
Honestly, this is a smart move by Kara. Running used to be dominated by cheap men (Boston Billy even got his favor shirt out of a trash can), but this latest running boom is completely dominated by upper middle class women with lots of disposible cash.
I don't see the point of spending a cool thousand bucks to have an empowering weekend of wine and running, but I guarantee they will sell out.
Same thing with Oiselle as a brand. I would never spend more than $20 on a pair of simple split shorts. But they can get women to spend hundreds of dollars on running "outfits." More power to them.
Haters going to hate
"This weekend is about empowering women to live their lives to the fullest."
No it won't... the patriarchy will see to that.

This. My wife loves working out and she goes to those "Barre" classes all the time. She comes home with $100 yoga tops that look like she would wear them out to dinner. She has like 3 drawers full of these things. She looks damn good in them, though :)
People are cashing in on running. I am glad this is actually being hosted by a legit runner. This weekend just as easily could sell out with some douche like Dane (or a female equivalent) hosting it.

If someone really wants to experience a weekend of running and camaraderie, sign up for the Beach to Beacon 10K. You'll run a wonderful race and get to meet a truly accomplished woman, Joan Benoit Samuelson. Alas there will no lectures on freeloading from Scott Samuelson.
my wife spends $300 a month on spin classes. No complaints, but $1000 to go on a running retreat where they feed you and all isn't crazy.
good on gouchers - it's a good idea. Hope it works.
Great athlete does not equal great coach besides I'm doubtful of how good an athlete she was considering her association with Salazar. If you want to spend the money and believe the myth go for it.
