Vipam should be proud he must be doing something right to have so many poster jealous of his knowledge. I rarely see him post an athlete who doesn't develop into a outstanding runner and out of thousands he always pick a few of the ones who make the biggest impact. Give the man credit and stop hating and coming up with those lame excuses. Keep up the good work V-man. |

Not in defense of Vipam or anyone for that matter, one thing I don't understand is why is all these rabid criticisms and childish hatred toward one person who seemed to be interested in world class runners on his own way. If you don’t like what he is saying then don’t read his points. Like Michael408, Vipam must be doing some thing great to have landed on the hate list of some imposters on this board. I have read his postings, from time to time since 2002, and he, among others, seemed to have deeper insight on African as well as American runners. Maybe he should start giving attention to some high school cross country runner or team instead of, let’s say, discussing Kenny B or T Dibaba or A Webb's latest victory. |

1. Vipam, stop changing your screen name and posting compliments about yourself. 2. I believe Vipam was gushing with praise for Regina Jacobs not long ago as well. You people who are swinging from his nether regions as Vipam fantasizes about Bekele's jockstrap need serious help. |

That's not hard when the athlete he "chooses" has already run 12:50 or won a few world titles. |

This isn't Vipam but you could learn some class from him; however, thats to be expected from someone with the intelligence and maturity of a 3rd grader. Many posters besides myself find your total disdain for him revolting and tiresome and wish all you annoying clowns would go away not Vipam. |

I enjoy Vipam's posts. He at least poses questions and gets discussion going, without ever insulting other people. It's kind of annoying that people are so insecure that they find it necessary to cut down anybody who posts on a semi-consistent basis. Also, now this thread is no longer at 666 |

I'd echo your sentiments too. I believe that his comments are insightful. That is not to say that others' posts aren't. He has nice posts in my view. I wish we'd stop discussing individuals. It doesn't help the cause. |

I think I need to throw my two cents here in defense of Vipam whom I enjoyed his insights for the past two yrs. Those who have issues with him regarding KB or Dibaba or A Choge etc, just read this thread from page 1 and see how far he has gotten close to his predictions. I also kept on reading from people who seemed to have hated his gut just because he didn't give a damn about their high school/college cross country/track teams. Or Vipam predicted time to the one-hundredth place. Little children, it is prediction, better yet performance-oriented guess - not science! give it a rest. As to cross country thing, puleeeezh, I would rather watch Nurami and Zatopek in BW or Yifter the shifter or Geb vs. Tergat duking it out from my collections for hundredth time than waste time discuss some lame performance from some xyz team from no-name school. No disrespect, but it is just fact! And again to those, who thinks that Vipam wrote and post the above under different name, just give it a rest! I am neither him nor his fan. I just happen to like his insight as well as contributions bringing to the board. Gracias Signor Vipam, I salute your effort. |

Gebber, I agree with you. This guy usually nails it. He has written about some young and upcoming runners who have become hits in 2 or 3 years. It's no use picking up quarrels with others. No one has the whole truth you and I included. If someone makes aprediction that is far from the truth, well and good. No hell will break loose. |

I appreciate all the support all kind words, its funny when someone comes to my defense the criticizer always thinks/SAYS its me...go figure! Again thanks everyone. One athlete that I think will blow up bigtime if she keeps running and not too many people have heard of her is Farida Makula (Tan). In 2004 at age 16 and just started running competitively she ran with eventual Junior X-Country Champion Meselech Melkamu (Eth) for 4500m before fading and not badly to finish 13th. In 2005 Farida lead everyone by 2 seconds after Laps 1 and 2 but lost a shoe and finished in the top 30. She is still 17 and have already posted a 1:14:03 1/2 marathon. Farida Makula lacks great footspeed but loves to run from the front and try to shed her opponents by breaking them, if she can stay focused and injury free we will see this Tanzanian creating great races in the future (but winning few). Her focus and health are the only things that can stop her as she knows very little about pacing...its go..Go...GO with her! VIPAM The few 1500m Kenenisa was expected to run chances aren't very good according to my friend in Ethiopia, so don't expect them this year (I heard maybe one and thats not very likely). Is this another mind game Hicham announcing he will be mostly a 3000m/5000m and Kenenisa announcing he run some 1500m???? |

Yes, I agree, both you and Vipam (probably the same person) share a paltry intelligence. Really? Is there an online petition you have going designed to protect this poor victim? What a poor baby. How awful that people have begun calling him on his BS. What is tiresome is the 50 threads Vipam spams the board with every day along these lines: "HEY GUYS, WILL BEKELE DESTROY THE WORLD RECORD BY 7 OR 15 SECONDS TODAY?" Then you open it up and Vipam gives a convoluted explanation of why he'll run 26:14.7390 instead of 26:13.5920 according to his secret Ethiopian sources. Please, grow up. Look at this thread. Started 3 years ago, and every time Bekele takes a dump, Vipam shoots it back up top and then plagiarizes an IAAF article. Then people commend him for his genius. You need to open your eyes. It is more than obvious he is defending himself (the grammar and spelling of his defenders is indentical to his own) and you must realize that there are far more than 1 person who finds him irritating). |

Shut the hell up you f***ing tool. Vipam may be a little overenthusiastic about some East African runners, and he is not always right. But he is a no-nosense poster, who researches a lot of track stories thoroughly, and posts them here for anyone interested. We could use a LOT more posters like him, and a LOT LESS like you. Maybe this thread has run its course. But his predictions about Bekele were superb, and of course he deserves major props for them. One of the best predictions ever on LetsRun. (though he WAS wrong about "El G having no shot at beating Bekele in the 5k." wrong wrong wrong. Like I said, no one is perfect. But you and the few others that spend all your time hating on him are WAY MORE annoying than he could ever be. So disasgee with him if you want, but stop the personal, jealous, obsessive attacks on him. You ruin good threads with them. If Vipam left this board, people would notice and he would be missed. If YOU left this board......no one would care one iota. And they wouldn't notice, because there are plenty of other juvenile haters like you to take your place. So LEAVE A-hole! |

Kids, this is what happens when peope forget to take their medicine. We should really from this point on avoid insulting Vipam because his teenage fan club takes umbrage. And no, no one would notice except you and 4-5 others, perhaps. |

Just looking at this from objective point of view: 1) Vipam does contribute interesting information to the board 2) If he wants to bump his own thead, that's cool, just don't read it if you don't like it. 3) It does seem pretty clear (just looking at grammer and writing style) that he is the one writing the posts that are defending him, using different screen names. |

will any of the tv stations be broadcasting the race, or any other races from hengelo? |

hmmm No and I have searched and can't find the meet being broadcasted, maybe ESPN2 or some other affiliate will pick it up and broadcast parts like on 30 minute running shows a few days after the meet. The 3000m, 5000m, and 10000m men events are going to be awesome and produce great results/performances. My predictions: 3000m Eliud Kipchoge 7:26.2 (although I would like to see Hicham win) Hicham El Guerrouj 7:27.0 5000m Augustine Choge 12:48.5 WJR Sileshi Sihine 12:49.2 10000m Kenenisa Bekele 26:14.5 |

La Mesa Gebber NativeSon Michael408 Woody Wilson and please sir, may I... Seriously I appreciate the support and posters taking a stand for me against whoever it is that hates me and for no reason. Actually, Gebber is really Vipam. Check out the grammer. And honestly, I've never heard of a poster saying this about someone they are defending: "Gracias Signor Vipam, I salute your effort." Vipam, you wrote that. No need to keep making these fake posts that defend you. You are free to post whatever you want whenever you want. |
