Breaking 15 in the 5k is my one and only post collegiate running goal. I only ran 3 5k's in college, and I ran my PR (15:14) in my debut, the other two were 1500/5k same day doubles.
The rest of my PR's are as follows
800: 1:56
1500: 3:55
3k (indoors): 8:37
I am training casually now, not tracking my mileage but I'm running 6-7 days a week with runs between 35 and 60 minutes (6:30 - 7:00 pace) And two or so hard efforts a week. (pickups 2 sets of 30 seconds, 60 seconds and 90 seconds) and 3 mile tempos (usually done in 16:30).
I have run two races recently a 9:06 3k and a 16:27 road 5k
Any training tips on mileage and good workouts to do? Anybody else trying to break 15 for the first time?
