70th D-Day question. Why didn't France, England, Ireland, Spain, etc fight in WWII and left America/Russia by themselves to obliterate Germany?

The English fought valiantly. The French army, like most of western Europe, was over run quickly, not prepared for the German speed or force. But the French resistance was an important part of winning the war.
Spain was neutral to preserve itself.
The Soviets had the manpower to handle the Germans. The US had the industrial might (and pretty good manpower itself).
You might want to check out the casualty count

England? Srsly?
The US banned other countries from lead participation since they were unprepared and had no army to speak of except for symbolic political prescence. The USSR were the true saviors of Europe from the Germans. The US merely tagged along. After WWII, Hollywood made movies falsely crediting the US as the victors when it was the USSR who saved humanity albeit with some limited US help.

Have you been to those places? No US general has ever wanted any of them around our combat soldiers.
Ireland is neutral. Hitler supported the IRA during ww2 and shipped weapons into Ireland for the IRA for use against GB in their fight for full Independence and a united country.

Spain's Blue Division fought in WWII, FOR GERMANY!!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_DivisionDidn't you idiots learn anything in school? Jesus.
England took heavy casualties both military and civilian. As stated Spain fought with Germans. Franco was a fascist. 10,000 Irishmen lost their lives fighting for Britain.
The Germans are pretty much the only ones who were in it right from the start. First they were outnumbered by England and France, then they were outnumbered by England and Russia, and finally they were outnumbered by England, Russia and the US, and it still took more than 5 years to beat them.
Beware the Germans. They are fierce and aggressive like animals. Give them weapons and they'll attack everybody. They should be kept in their own country and not allowed to travel.
First of all, is the OP a joke?
Secondly. I learned something interesting a few years ago. By around 1943 England by itself was producing more war machines and materials than Germany. That is before you even get to the output that the Soviets and America had. That shows how screwed Germany was. I got that from the book "the 3rd Reich at War", which maybe the most depressing book ever written.
What are they NOT teaching in school these days? This guy thinks England didn't fight in WW2? Holy cow.
It's the same situation today. The US and Germany have to keep Western Europe safe from Russia with the feckless Italian, British, Norse, French, Swiss, Greeks, ..., just tagging along and doing nothing. NATO is really only two nations, germany and the United States.
Germany invaded Poland on Sept 1st 1939. This effectively started WWII.
Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th 1941 - more than two years later. Only then did the US grow a pair and join the war.
What say you know, as\shole?
*now, not "know". (Fu\ck)
Russia bore the humongous brunt of the Allies' casualties in WWII, and the war would've even lost if not for them. That doesn't get enough attention these days,
As for why the French didn't sacrifice more in WWII? Their country was decimated by the horrors of WWII that America almost completely avoided. Huge portions of their population and geography were decimated in e most brutal conflict up to that time. Nothing America had EVER experienced in war compares to the total destruction that hit Germany and France in WWII (and Russia in WWII). We Americans like to talk big, but we've never lost anywhere close to the number of men these countries (and others) suffered in the awful world wars. I don't think anyone here knows what it's like to have your country involved in total war on the scale of the Great War and its successor.

Did you read the other books in that series? I really want to read that "Third Reich" series a lot.
