I had a girl on my MS team this year break every school record from 200m - 3200m (as well as the 1600m and 3200m relays). Here are her times (all FAT):
200m - 27.96
400m - 62.46
800m - 2:27.17
1600m - 5:29.04
3200m - 12:17.40
She also ran a 5k road race in 20:22 a couple of weeks ago. I ran in the same race and would estimate that the course is ~30 seconds slower than a track 5000m. She ran the 200m, 400m, and 800m exactly once each although she did run in the 4x400m relay every meet and in the 4x800m a couple of times. Her best splits were 61.1 and 2:24.
I only had her running ~20 mpw and most of her workouts were geared towards 400m/800m. However, I do think that she could develop into a heckuva miler. Her splits for her PR were 81-84-83-80 and she was completely solo from the gun.
Any thoughts on what her summer training should look like and what events I should be grooming her for?
