Was Fagan always a tatted up looking freak?
Fagan should not be allowed to compete. Taking money from the sub elite.
Martin Fagan should definitely be given the chance to compete. He made a mistake. Get over it. He's 30 years of age. He is potentially one of Ireland's great hopes for a global medal over distance. We should be supporting him. No one knows what people go through to make difficult choices. The moral high ground is a fragile place to sit.
1) Global medal. Get real.
2) Your indicating was a 'mistake' in such a way shows that you believe the whole 'only did it that one time' myth - if your in the loop you'll know that some of the folk taking in by that myth in the immediate aftermath now know it was bollix.
3) Comment on difficult choices - as has been said all the time....100's, 1000's....jesus...even more than that...lots of other athletes at or near his level...training their arse off...no money....trying to decide whether to give it one more year...they don't all start juicing.
4) I think having a negative view of this comeback is more the moral 'middle' ground...not so much the high ground.

Fagan fits right in the our infamous tat thread hypothesis.

The Americans Gatlin and Merritt are still allowed to compete, and they're taking much more in prize money than Fagan is.
To be expected from sprinters. Distance runners are supposed to occupy the moral high ground.

He didn't say those Americans should or should not be allowed to compete. Why did you bring them up?

Bullsh!t. Don't tell me that deliberately taking performance-enhancing drugs was a "mistake."
Fagan won the Charleville Half by nearly 3 minutes yesterday in 1:03. Any news on him running Dublin or another Marathon this Autumn?

Fuck that cheater
Cliona Foley said last week in her column that he was not yet signed up to Dublin. Whatever that means.
