woooops maybe Donn is out?
Did Carrie Tollefson just say that Matt Hughes was 6th in the 2013 NCAA steeple? Wasn't he a two-time NCAA champ
Jager has tied his hair back. Wonder if he'll race that way.
That looked painful
Dan Huling 8:17 FTW!!!!
Stream is sometimes choppy and sometimes non-existent.
Turner went down with 1k to go, was closing on Huling..
Huling goes 8:17.00
forys 8:26
Hughes 8:29
Milne 8:31
Does anybody know who the woman announcing is? Frankly I think they could get a better announcer. Sorry. Whenever she commentates on stuff it's not that great.
I couldn't do better, but just think that somebody could.
I'm calling it: Turner ruptured his achilles. Classic look-back wondering who kicked him in his heel. These typically don't hurt which is why he tried to keep running.
No problem dude, it'll be great to see how things play out 2nite
And huge shout out to Rojo for making this the official thread, you rock dude!

Carrie Tollefson. She's a former USATF Champ and did the NYC Marathon on ESPN.
Top men's steeple results here:
817 for Huling. Great race. First sub 820 in 4 years.
I like her Minnesota accent.
It's not 95 in Glendale.
Google says it's 90 at 8 pm. No way huling ran 917 in 95 degree heat even if the son is setting but still very impressive.
This lady likes to plug her own accomplishments (Olympian, Championship runner) while commentating. How about we just focus on the race.

Just turn off your audio. Learn to control what you do not like on you're [lrc sic] own.
Former FSU star Luke Gunn wins slow section in 835.44.
Memo to the announcers. Luke Gunn is British, not American.
Someone obviously corrected them. They just called him Australian.
Pretty funny.

PS. I am watching this and the Orioles game at the same time. I turned back to this with a lap to go and it was amazing how much harder Gunn looks like he's running than Huling.
I wonder if you showed people a video of the last lap of the various heatsif you could tell what was the fast heat, slow heat, etc. Or maybe this was just a particularly situation with Gunn. I think the latter.
At Cornell, I had a few very smooth runners. Everyone thought they should be very fast. Not necessarily the case.

Well unfortunately I have to hear the commentary first before I determine if it's worth listening to.
What ever happened to the slow heats first, building towards the faster time??!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
