Last Irish runner to head to Villanova was Richie Corcoran, who graduated in 2008. Last woman was Geraldine McCarthy, who finished up in 2001, if I remember correctly. Villanova tried hard to get a number of top Irish runners since then (e.g., Colin Costello, Ciaran O'Lionaird, Mark English, and Ciara Mageean), but were unsuccessful for one reason or another (English and Mageen went pro; Costello went briefly to Arkansas and then returned home; O'Lionaird to Michigan, then Florida State).
Getting Siofra Cleirigh-Buttner would be a great for Gina, since she's losing Emily Lipari and Nicky Akande to graduation. Siofra C-B (2:03.8x)is already (at age 18) as fast as Lipari over 800 meters.
