So the tool that took off in a sprint at the starting line to briefly lead the Boston marathon yesterday is shamelessly promoting himself as someone who’s actually achieved something. He’s posted multiple facebook posts about leading the marathon, and he’s even gotten some pub on deadspin and in the Deseret News.

Am I the only one that thinks this guy is a tool? I’m sure guys like this bother the hell out of the real contenders by getting in their way.
When Meb finished, this guy was back at mile 19. I wouldn’t be bragging to the world about leading the marathon if I was 6-7 miles behind the winner as he finished. His shameless self promotion is a distraction from the actual real stories of yesterday’s race. He works for Altra shoes and he wanted to get into the lead so he could get some free publicity for his company. I’m never going to buy Altra shoes if this is how they market their product.
