As the title implies, I'm a 4:20 miler (run last year) looking for a training group/partner/coach in the bay area next year (Sept 2014 - July 2015) Probably do some sort of modified cross season in the fall, then track in the winter/spring, but nothing concrete yet. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to give out some more info to anyone interested and feel free to contact me via email.

The bay area is a big place. Post where you will be working or living and you'll probably get more info from people living in that area. Somebody could probably list all the main clubs in the area, but they aren't all in the entire bay area. Plus if you post a specific location, you are more likely to get a "I'm also a 4:20 miler living in Oakland, lets train together" type of response.
I'm living in San Francisco (richmond), but happy to drive to places if it means I can train with other people who are training for the mile and relatively fast.

I coach Strawberry Canyon TC, and the majority of our group meets in Berkeley. You'd be most welcome to our Monday-Thursday workouts if immediate location is not a huge issue. We have a few good middle-distance (1:54/3:50s) types in your range, and a couple of solid SF-based members. Our web site is

However, since you plan to live in San Francisco and in the Richmond district, I'll also suggest looking into West Valley Track Club. They are a strong, perhaps longer distance-oriented group that meets at Kezar on Tuesday evenings. They're our "rivals" (though I may only be speaking for myself), and well-established, yet we have a fair level of mutual respect. Let me know if I can assist.
Does West Valley have many MD guys right now? I know in the past they have, not sure about right now. They seem to be pretty stuck on ultras recently, but maybe I am wrong.The real question is, which club is better at beer miles?

WVTC currently seems more 10K on up oriented. They're better than us at Beer Miles, but no one has completed the Big Mac Challenge. Almost none have tried, all have failed...except for one. He's still recovering.
