As devils advocate, Med leads from 13.1 to finish yet he was going against a field with numerous sub 2:05 guys. I want to believe no but BAA and Boston Strong will do anything to promote the day

We already have one nonsense thread on this topic - we don't need another. Anyone who knows marathoning and the Boston course can see there are no issues here. I'm guessing all these conspiracy theorists have never actually run a marathon before.
Who is Med?
Wake up. These guys didn't run 2:05 at Boston. There is a big difference between the Boston course and the fast courses in Europe these guys run 2:05 at.
Yes, it was. He ran 2:08 on a negative split. So he took off in the first few miles at even slower pace. Yet these elites that run 2:04-2:05...not a single one could hang? Seriously?
So then there's the story that "well they just thought they'd reel him back in"...but then they didn't push the pace at all? And instead of front running in a group...like they do in every other marathon on the planet...they let 2 guys (1 being a rabbit for the other) to get away? Ok...what?
And then as a cherry on top, the reason the Americans didn't surge and go after this 38 year old running minutes slower than their PR was because....Ryan Hall was the savior and stood up for Team America and told everyone "hey guys, let's not run fast today, let's let Meb win!!!"
And the take away from that story is how awesome it was of Ryan Hall to tell everyone to slow down, how self-less that was.
