Oregon standout Laura Roesler ran 2:00.53 at Mt. Sac on Saturday. She hit 60 seconds at the 400, 1:30.7 at 600, and she kicked the last 200 in under 30 seconds. Boys, that tells me that Roesler is ready to run under 1:59 this year. But will she get Claudette Groenendaal's 800 meter Oregon school record of 1:58.33? I don't think that is gonna happen this year. I know Laura has the entire summer to get this record. But this girl will be too tired to run 1:58 low when she has the opportunity to do it in June and July. The rough indoor season, followed by the constant doubling will takes its wear and tear on the phenom Roesler. She will be worn out by the time US Nationals comes around. Its too bad, because I thought the 30 year old Oregon school record was in danger of getting broken this year.
