Is it possible to go from barely being in shape to peak 5k+ condition in four months?
Given,
-have maintained moderate aerobic base
-in generally good health
-can train an unlimited amount
-ran 15:40 equivalent 2 years ago in HS
-want to run 15:10 equivalent in four months
The 15:40 equivalent was a near-distance track race. My peak shape if I trained/raced perfectly then (2 yrs ago) would have been right about 15:20 at worst. I want to run the equivalent of about a 15:10 or 15:00 5k for 4 miles in 4 months. I can train as much as I need and did 70-80mpw 2 years ago. In good health currently. Have been running on and off lately.
I have gone through a lot of the stickied threads but there's nothing for getting in shape quickly. If anybody has any thoughts (Renato pls?) feel free to chime in.
