How could that win prize money in any age category is beyond me. She is bragging on facebook about when only 5 people raced in her category. She is 25 years of age by the way.

That's nothing. I just did a half marathon (Dismal Swamp Stomp Half Matahon) last week and a woman won $1,000 and she only ran a 1:38:xx. But the results were age-graded. She's 56. Don't get me wrong, that's impressive for her age, but she won money over women that ran in the low 1:20s.
Jealous much ?
Not a fan of age grading. Isn't that why races usually have a separate masters category for awards? Also, age grading doesn't allow for true racing. The 1:20 females had no way of knowing they needed to run X seconds faster because some old chick was running some "faster" (age-graded) pace behind them.
