This is letsrun, so you need to be a bit more extreme in your use of hyperbole, otherwise the basement-dwellers won't understand you:
Do you mean the best ever by the best ever, or the greatest ever in history by the GOAT, or the No1 since records began by the official best of all time?
Either of those would apply. The statement was written as a question: "Best Marathon Debut By the Best Distance Runner Ever?" I wanted to stimulate argument and conversation, not make a flat-out statement. There have been MANY better marathon times--and probably many better marathon debut times than Bekele's. But only Gebrselassie can really be compared to Bekele when it comes to BEST EVER AT EVERYTHING, i.e. cross country, track AND on the roads. Remember Bekele's recent Bupa run where he outkicked one of the best kickers of all time, Mo Farah. Bekele and Geb are the ultimate all-around GOAT's at everything when it comes to distance running.
