If anyone can, please search a few years ago on Hall. He did a similar workout at a similar pace, just before Boston. Look, the guy is talented. I get that. But, he is the Alex Rodriguez of marathon races that count. He has great numbers. Wonderful stats. And, somehow is not the guy everybody really likes (like Meb). And, he chokes at Boston, NYC and the Olympics. Now, I say choke, I don't mean he didn't run a very good time chronically. I mean, he and/or those around him made it seem as if he was in "great shape", and ready to win..Boston, the Olympics, etc.. Yet, he tends to have flashes of uncomfortable moments ( see running past Wellsley girls) that make us 'running fans' cringe.
From the armchair quarterback so to-speak, sine there is no QB in running, I would advise this:
A- Don't go out too hard. Meaning, DON'T take the lead until after 15 or 16 miles, if you are able.
B- Just run. Don't do any theatrics. Just run and be grateful, and make sure to say the right things about the people and city of Boston.
That's all.
Good luck.
And GO BOSTON, BABY!!!
