My Health Insurance Went Up $300/m Because Of Obamacare!!!!

Or maybe, JUST MAYBE, they are calling in BECAUSE they, or someone they know, lost their plan. Have you thought, even for a moment, that it is the 5% that is complaining?

I personally don't know anyone that lost their plan either, but I am employed and work for a large company. All of my friends and people I associate with have jobs so they were at very little risk of losing their plans.

From what I understand, none of these stories the right has been dredging up stand up to scrutiny. These people who claim their premium skyrocketed did so because they just took the next plan their insurance company offered them without looking on the exchanges or shopping around at all.

Funny, I think liberals are the angry ones - not to mention extremely crude and foul mouthed. If you disagree with them, you are immediately labeled a racist, sexist, idiot, etc. I don't think Obama is intentionally destroying the country. Do I think he is a good President? No.

Just because the OP doesn't know people who have lost their insurance or had large premium increases means nothing. Perhaps you aren't friends with the many small businessmen/women who are strongly affected by this law - doesn't mean they don't exist. Many of them are having a difficult time. My brother is self-employed and not only did his premiums increase substantially, his out of pocket costs have skyrocketed, and his doctor, as well as his children's pediatrician don't accept his plan. The nearest dentist in his plan is almost 50 miles away. The only "winners" were the ones who expect the taxpayers to pay their premiums by getting a "subsidy" - in other words, another "freebie" from the hardworking, productive taxpayer.

As a self employed 50 year old who makes too much money to get the gov't spiff, my insurance went up from 215 dollars a month to 384 a month. My plan was cancelled because Blue cross said that my insurance had to have additional benefits added to it. My deductible is 5,000 and everything is out of pocket. The additional "benefits", drug rehab. and other things were required but something I would never have purchased on my own.

I could have saved money by going on the exchange but I would have lost my doctor and my network would have been severly limited so I decided to pay extra.

Self employed healthy people who make too much money (over 50k for a single person) are the ones who are paying more. I barely make too much and now I'm paying 4500 a year on health insurance. That is more than 10 percent of my take home pay. There is nothing "affordable" about the affordable care act, unless you are poor or sick or old.
