New rules this year state that no bag transfer service is available from the Start Line to the Finish Line. As a result, runners are ransacking thrift stores.
Anyone have a great outfit picked out?

I bought a sweet-ass (only slightly soiled) sweatshirt and pants at a thrift store.
Everyone at the athlete's village will look like a hobo.
a G-string and a bow-tie of course --my favorite racing kit
I have a sweet pair of Starter running pants, a fleece jacket, and a windbreaker from the finest salvation army store in the area. I'll add on an old long sleeve cotton t-shirt to complete the look.
I was wondering if this sort of mindset was going to set in. I haven't gone to the store yet, but I am totally on board for the annual hobo parade to become a proud Boston tradition. I mean, you can get plaid suits for like $15 that will probably keep you warm enough.
Likely will be 65-70 degrees ahead of the race. Global warming has reduced the need for warm clothes before the start.
The forecast low on Sunday night for Hopkinton is in the mid to upper 30s.

Global cooling will destroy the Earth.

oh wow i like this idea. I hadnt even though of wearing an old thrift store suit. I was more thinking the traditional soiled sweatsuit route. Hmmm.....
I volunteer at the bus load on the common every year. I'm not looking forward to this year because of the policy change. It will have no effect on safety. What has changed is the cost of insuring an event of this magnitude. I'm sure an actuary somewhere put a no bag policy on a check list to lower premiums.
I went to walmart and picked up a windbreaker for $10 and some fake adidas pants for $10. That plus an old short and long sleeve throw away tee.
Hoping that will be enough. Debating on whether or not to wear some old shoes and carry my marathon flats in my hands, so I dont have to put those on until 20mins prior to the start.

The question is what are you going to be wearing...
...not what you are going to crap into and wipe with.
I was at Lowes two hours ago, walked past some bright purple gardening gloves that were on sale for $3, and bought them to wear. I didn't want to throw away anything nicer. My wife made fun of me, so I'm guessing everyone at the race who notices will be in their head. I have some old sweatpants, a long sleeve race shirt and an old hoodie sweatshirt that I'll wear. Someone else mentioned bringing their race flats separately . . . wonder if that's not a good idea. Grass could be wet in the athletes village.
Condoms, baby. Condoms. You just don't know where some of those runners have been.
