How about BAA tak some of that money from the absolutely exorbitant registration fees they charged this year and do something to show that they actually care about the sport at an elite level and increase the prize purse?
F'ing disgusting.

It's just a mile. That's like praising someone for walking across the street. Anyone can run a fast mile. $3k is way too much.
A mile? That's easy.
McCringledouche has spoken. And having spoken, has said...drivel.
Maybe, just maybe, there's a bit more money going towards security and charities this year for some reason, hmmmmm.
What's the registration fee for the mike?
...mile?
that's actually quite a bit for a mile race that's not even the main event...however, if the 5K is a lot more that would be odd.
Unless they are forcing athletes to run this then I don't see the problem
$7500 for 5k winners

Over three times the work, but not three times the pay.
Are these races all invitational?

It's an invitational race. That means there's no entry fee and thee BAA is likely paying travel expenses. Then there's the $14,500 prize purse. What's the problem?
BAA Half is only $6000.
Smart deal. BAA doesn't want noname Kenyans to fly in and collect the prize purse. They want REAL Americans like you and me to win. $3000 is enough to attract attractive Americans.
Should be a great race. Looking forward to it.
I'd look forward to it more if they'd tell us who they invited. I can't find a list of entrants anywhere.
REAL Americans like Nick Willis, Collis Birmingham, and Andy Baddeley for the last 4 years?
