"stress fracture" aka ducking out of getting spanked by Efraimson
I have to admit I am somewhat glad to hear this. Not because she is hurt but because I did have thoughts she was ducking Efraimson. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Yeah like she's the first person to ever get a stress reaction/fracture.
Sad that this is likely the end of her Senior season. But it is just HS afterall - she can gear up for XC (probably her first love) in the fall at Oregon, unless this lingers for a while and so has to redshirt.
Good grief.
Stress reaction, not stress fracture.
In either case, she should be running again in a couple of days at the most.
STRESS REACTION
Hope she recovers quickly, would love to see her break 10 while in HS.

What planet do you live on?
Most of the time, or currently?
Once the word stress is associated with any injury, it's not good. She needs to take the rest of the spring season off and prepare for the DUCKS!
Tip for college students:
In Eugene, Oregon the best STEM faculty is a Lane Community College.
Cain injured? Now Baxter? There's less than 3 percent of any elite high school and college women distance runners in the last ten years who have made it running professionally with a full time salary and sponsorship.
Jordan Hasay can you please tell us how you did it????!!!!!

You are a moron...she will not be back running in days. Even a stress reactions requires at least a couple of weeks off.
Shocking numbers! wrote:

When did Cain get injured?
When did Cain get injured?

You don't recall that Cain withdrew from the World Indoor Championships.
What is a stress reaction? Indications that a bone is about to fracture? Do X-rays or MRIs show this? I just haven't heard this term.

Is she STILL recovering from that? It wasn't even an injury. It was a precaution or something, wasn't it?

That must be your answer for everything.
Probably has something to do with that ridiculous heel strike of hers.

Stress reaction is just another term for a low-grade stress fracture. They are the same thing, and both are normally detected with a bone scan. A 'stress fracture' is a severe stress reaction. She certainly will not be running in a few days, though there are decent odds that she'll be able to race later this season if she wants to take a chance. You can cross train intensively on a bike or in the pool with a stress reaction, so she can maintain fitness. There are also decent odds that she/her doctor/coach/family might prefer to take no chances, let it heal thoroughly, and get ready for Oregon. It's not like she has a lot left to prove in HS.
Never broke ten, woyldnt have anyway
She's peaked, finished, over, she wont improve anymore
Basically all women run fastest in their teen years.
Thanks for your contribution. I hope i never meet you.
