Why would he?, CG's are a tenth rate competition behind OG's, WC's, GP's.
Because that is what champions do. They represent.
That's not much time to regain the turnover (especially after the rest period following a marathon.) and muscle mass needed to have that kind of speed. He's been training for the marathon for too long at this point.
Nah he should go right to the deep end - the Commonwealth Games marathon. In his home country again, sorta. Should only take a long easy run plus a 2-mile tempo at the end to win.

You do realise that Kenya is part of the Commonwealth?
say he's fully recovered & ready to get back to 1500 training by may 1st. lower milage will enable him to do the speedwork to retrain the CNS and get the turnover back. AlSal's squats + NOP diet peeps can get him back strength/explosiveness-wise pretty quickly, 6 weeks or so. you can relearn that stuff if it is your main training focus & you're not out trying to run 150 MPW at the same time (which he doesn't need to do because he has a huge base). it'd be pushing it and not optimal, but he could be ready to run a competitive 1500 by july.

And just how many Kenyans waste a marathon cycle on a non-Olympic championship with no prize money?
1 John Kelai (KEN) 2:14:35
2 Michael Shelley (AUS) 2:15:28
3 Amos Tirop Matui (KEN) 2:15:58
4 Mike Tebulo (MAW) 2:18:31
5 Samson Ramadhani Nyonyi (TAN) 2:19:31

And why should Farah?
I actually like the 1500 idea (and am firmly opposed to the idea of the 1500 being his best event)...why not give it a shot? I don't see a downside...
If Farah wants to be legend like Kenny B and Haile G, he should take a crack at the 5K WR. It's the only one I think he has a moderate shot at. Until he runs sub-12:45 and sub 26:30 I don't think any student of the sport would take him seriously as a top-10 distance runner all-time.

So you're opposed to math? 3:28 is 2 seconds off the world record.
What other event has he shown the ability for such a level of performance? Certainly not the 10000 or the 5000. Are you talking about the 3000? I wouldn't count that because that's not a championship event.
Relax man, I'm only joking. Although it's just as realistic as everything else in this thread.Hmmmmmmmm wrote:

Okay Moron, what was Mo's best event on July 18, 2013? His PR up to that date was 3:33. So was his best event 5k then suddenly became 1500 the next day because of what his PR's technically were? No.
Is Alan Webb the best miler of the decade? He has the best PR. No, of course not.
Don't bother responding, if you possibly refute this then you have to be trolling.

Not many eligible ones do at the CG's.
Commonwealth games - go for the quintuple.
1500, 5000, 10,000, marathon and the chase.
Would put him down in the record books forever.
Douple up and do it at the Europeans as well.
5000 at the Commonwealth should be pretty much ithin his comfort zone. He has time to recover from London and do the necessary pace work for the distance. If the Games weren't at home (I know that technically they aren't but they are within the UK) I don't think Farah would consider them but his UK sponsors (veggie mince for heaven's sake!!) will demand that he shows up. Very few of the top class Kenyans will show up - it's along time since the 60s & 70s when the Commonwealth middle and long distance events were races to savour. Ther's too much money to be made on the circuit to waste effort on what is , to a genuine world ranker , a minor championship.

You are delusional, it is his best event and it is not close.
No, OP, that's a silly idea

No, I don't have to be trolling if I refute this. You just have no reading comprehension.
I never said Webb was the best miler of the decade. I never said anything about Webb at all. But since you brought him up, no did not have the best PR of the decade. I'm pretty sure guys like EL G and Bernard Lagat had better PRs. You obviously refute that or purposefully left it out so I think you're the one who is trolling.

hes got a great PR but that's not the entire game...not even half
