The United Nations and NATO are powerless to do anything.
The United Nations and NATO are powerless to do anything.
Who gives a shit?
If they're unmarked, how were you able to get such an accurate count?
Putin is crazy. Next thing you know the whole Middle East will be under Putin.
We should join the Russians. The Russian-American Federated States will dominate the world. With our combined strength we can take all the oil and resources from every other country and make them all bow down.
Whether you like Putin or not, you must admit he'd make a great President of the United States.
Another 100,000 equivalent Russian Air Services Parajumpers, Russian Navy SEALS, Russian Army Green Berets, and Russian Army Delta Forces, are poised on the border with Ukraine, ready to invade on 12 hours notice. Russian conscripts would replace the Russian Special Forces once Ukraine has been conquered.
America has 500,000 troops ready to seize Canada. If we join Russia, we could jointly rule everything north of the 40th parallel. Western Europe wouldn't stand a chance.
I think Europe is more likely

Hmmmm...that may not be such a bad thing.
Eastern Ukraine is desperately poor and lacking in valuable natural resources. Any invasion or annexation would be like Illinois wanting to annex Gary, Indiana. The oil and gas pipelines all run through some portion of Western Ukraine to service Europe. Russia cannot take control of theses pipelines without taking all of Ukraine. And if Russia takes all of Ukraine, the EU would certainly impose trade sanctions on Russian energy exports. Russian energy exports to Europe account for half of all of its exports and more than half of its national federal budget. Russia is already seeing a major economic slow down and would absolutely be crippled by any meaningful trade sanctions from the EU. Putin knows this and will not move on Eastern Ukraine. Instead, he will try to undermine the government in Kiev by forcing the central government in Kiev to violently crack down on "protestors" in the Eastern Ukraine. All Russia needs is a pro-Russian government in power in Ukraine. An internal counter revolution would accomplish that without triggering trade sanctions.
Why should we do anything? Ukraine has an army and police forces. They are allowing this to happen. They have created "deadlines" for these guys to leave, and when the deadline passes, they don't evict them. From CNN,
"When asked why the Ukrainian government had made no apparent move to evict protesters after the deadline passed, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Danylo Lubkivsky told reporters that the government still believes in a political solution."
Tell me why we should stand up for the Ukraine when they won't stand up for themselves?
Hit the reset button

Who said anything about us doing something?
No worries. Barry and John Kerry are on the case.

To paraphrase von Bismark: ‘the whole of the Ukraine is not worth the bones of a single American (or British) trooper.’
Considering the whole western world is tethering on the edge of a massive economic collapse, needing just some international incident to start the dominos falling over - I think we have far more important issues to deal with before trying to interfere in the affairs of that piss-pot country.
By coincidence, there was a Ukrainian apprentice with the plumber I engaged replacing my boiler recently and he told me how pleased he was to have escaped from that place.
“All the political parties in my country are as corrupt as hell,” he told me.
A bit like ours then it seems.
That’s not provocation - this is…

You have it completely backwards.
Ukraine is becoming allies with the West and Russia is powerless to do anything about it other than invade backrupt worthless small towns with unmarked troops.
90% of Canada's population are amassed on the US border, ready to invade at any time.
