Anyone can walk 26 miles.
She is not the first lady to complete the London Marathon. Lots of women have run the race.
Nativeson, I have read a few of your posts before and I am always interested to hear your comments on the sport from a Kenyan perspective. You seem pretty informed, do you ever get the chance to speak to top athletes?
Nice!
7 hours 5 minutes?
I thought all Kenyans are super fast.
Maybe she was the fastest CLEAN Kenyan.
Can you imagine American ice maiden First Ladies running a marathon ?

Hi and thanks,
Unfortunately not. I am actually from NYahururu where there aren't very many athletes (as compared to upper Rift).
I used to see Ngugi run when I was growing up. I am talking about John Ngugi Kamau. I don't interact with any of these guys. I wish I could.
OH, I once met Sammy Kipketer in Nyahururu town in '07 or '08 and gave him a mighty hug. The lady she was with was more shocked than Sammy. LOl! Nice guy.
NativeSon - didn't you used to know Sammy Wanjiru, or his friends?

No, but I know people (my friends) who know/knew his friends. I have actually met several people who know people who know Kamau be it as a result of business or just social life.
