his 5/10k times indicate he is capable of 2:05-2:07, though he is very big for the marathon, and american men with a few very rare exceptions under perform in the marathon, also solinsky elevated himself to the highest levels in 2010 and he has hada major injury problem since then.
i say about 2:13
2:16
I'm going to give him a minute or two and say 2:16, but it wouldn't be a big surprise if it was slower.
I don't understand LetsRun's obsession with predicting. If it's a contest that makes sense. But people are predicting Chris Solinsky's time down to the second six months in advance not knowing which marathon he will run, what the weather will be like, or how his training will go.

No, they do not!
That's like saying that Bolt's 100/200 times indicate he is capable of 2:02-2:03 for the marathon.
There is a HUGE difference between saying time A in event (a) is equivalent to time B in event (b) and saying time A in event (a) 'indicates he is capable of time B in event (b)'.
Please learn the difference.
2:14, but it really would be better for him to not bother with this. He had a really brilliant moment in the sun, and now its long past midnight. Let it end, the dream is over.

Eh, tbf dude, a 10,000m is probably a better indicator of marathon capability than 100m.
Saying 26:59 indicates a 2:05-2:07 capability is akin to saying Bolt's 9.58 indicates he could run 42.high in the 400m.
Well, he always did a lot of miles for a guy his size, which will help a newbie after 35 km. I guess 2:13:40.
The way he has been running recently - 2:23
DNF or DNS.
I agree with all of you. 6'1" 165-170 is pretty big for a distance runner let alone a marathoner
