Do you agree with him here? I still don't see Bekele getting down to 2:03 low at this stage of his career, though I think he might dip under 2:04 eventually. http://www.runnersworld.com/elite-runners/haile-gebrselassie-pacing-london-racing-hamburg

So Haile does a 35-mile long run sometimes? Is that normal for elite marathoners?
You don't agree?! Without the cramp he would already be in 2:04 territory, so why it's hard to imagine that he improves by 1 1/2 minutes?
And Berlin and Dubai are faster than Paris.
I like this quote: "My son is TRYING to play soccer, and that's okay; it's up to him."
Hehe, another way to say: My son sucks big time.

What? This "stage" in his career? You mean prime marathon stage? Kenny will have the current 5k, 10k, and marathon world records by the time he retires.

Why not? Unless you think Paris will be the best marathon he ever runs. I think there's a good argument he left 30 seconds in Paris just due to either the pacing, which didn't go as far as it could have and made him run alone, or his cramps (if he had them). In the video, he looks like he's taking it kind of easy until he realizes he could break the course record and possibly 2:05, then he starts to push. A more sustained push (like he would if he had competition) would have made the marathon a lot faster.
Then take another minute or so off for the course, and I think he would have a great shot breaking it this fall on a course like Berlin or Rotterdam.

Did you miss him running 2:05 at Paris just a few days ago?

The problem is that people from Ethiopia are naturally SCRAWNY. Good soccer players are built more like Christiano Ronaldo, BUFF but RIPPED, with tons of STRENGTH ENDURANCE.
