Uh-Oh
Time to go "Oscar Ponce" on the situation and hit the road.
Yawn. Why would you even post this? What is benevolent about that?

Maybe, but I think it's against the rules to have a sexual relationship with a subordinate. Teacher/student, boss/employee, etc.
is against the rules the same as against the law? Pretty much every boss should be in jail if that is the case.
So this guy is 48.
17 I normally legal for consent - as in not statutory rape.
He was arrested on eight counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
17 is a minor. And Arizona may have 18 as a consent age.
The issue here would be coach-student relationship with a minor.
it would be different if he was not a school employee.
Pretty dumb thing to ruin your life over.
Even if all charges are dropped his life is ruined over this.
When are these guys going to learn? Besides obviously being criminal behavior, it's pathetic. World is full of " of age" females. Guys who pull this stuff are just a joke.

gotcha. but is it misconduct with a minor for a 17yo to have sex with another 17yo?
or would it be no issue if he was not an employee of the school or her coach and the consent age in AZ is 17?
It would be misconduct if one 17yo was the boss of another 17 yo, like at a fast food place. No one goes to jail, but someone is getting fired.

If a 17 yo is having sex with another 17 yo, there is no one to be charged as an adult.
An 18 year old with a 15 year old is usually illegal.
If he wasn't a teacher at the school, there would be less of an issue.
But they still have laws on contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
A 30 year age gap with a minor involved isn't good.
He couldn't wait a year?
c'mon

Benevolent? Nothing (except maybe we had the guts to put our name next to the link and allowed guys like you to rip us. We could have just posted it 'anonymously).
We posted it because it's a newsworthy story involving a prominent runner.

Bo Reed is no catch. Look at him. He can't even bail himself out of jail. Personal training but no certificate. Oh boy he is the man. I bet you wouldn't feel the same if he was boning your sister.
What Bo Reed did was absolutely wrong and he should never be allowed to coach high school athletes again. I think the whole thing is sad. It is sad that some of you "holier than thou" people that I know have never done anything wrong are going to crucify him. While it certainly seems creepy on an emotional level that a 48 year old connects with a 17 year old, I would say his crime is not as bad as a person that gets behind a wheel after 3 drinks - whether you are caught or not. No one is perfect so please remember that. Unless they find child porn in his computer or this is a serial thing, I hope that it is a minimum sentence.
I hope the best for Bo Reed and the young lady. It will take a long time for him to get any bit of normalcy back in his life.
In this case she was 17 but I can't fathom how a teacher having a relationship with a consenting ADULT is illegal.
Are there any other situations where heterosexual sex between adults is illegal?
It's very creepy. But with adult male coaches and teen age girl athletes the relationships can be very very close and personal, eventually lines get blurred and it turns into something tawdry.
I can see how it happens.
