Does anyone have information about the new Nike Elite Trail Team that's being put together? A contact or link to information? It was talked about on iRunFar last month. Patrick Smyth is the only legitimate runner on their team right now.

Smythe is just like Rupp and all the other cheaters who abuse the Therapeautic Exemptions. Athletes with TUE's are merely cheaters at the elite level. Tisk tisk
That didn't exactly answer my question.
Anyone else know about how to get on this team, who to contact, etc.? A quick Google yields nothing, except mentions by those on the team.
Run a competitive trail race and beat one of them. They will give you the contact info... and it's not really a "team".
I don't know who any of these people are except Patrick, so they clearly haven't won anything noteworthy and somehow got in touch with Nike, not the other way around.
So who's got the hookup?
Southern Oregon getting some trail love.
I just joined the Nike Elite Trail Team (about a month ago). Contacts at Nike ask that we do not pass on their contact information, except to people who we personally know.
The Nike Elite Trail Team, just started in Canada and I'm thrilled to be part of it! :) There are only 2 of us on the team in Canada (both female!)
I thought Patrick Smyth retired. I guess he found a second wind competing against only white people.

Oh, and in response to this:
Both of the Canadian members have won several key races, AND hold course records, and national records.
I know that I was approached by Nike, not the other way around.
What races?
you sound like just the type of person that makes the nike people not want to have their contact information spread around publicly. please spend some time learning about trail running, then come back and join the thread.
Exactly why they don't want their contact information given out!

Why not have a website about their team/athletes, to promote what they are doing, just as every other sponsored team does? By supporting a bunch of no name trail runners, they're not doing themselves justice for supporting their product and getting their name out there. They need to aim higher.
I actually agree with you!
I know that the Canadian team will be launching it's site in May. It is strange that the US team doesn't have a site.

Give them some time. This is a new venture for Nike. I'm sure they're still figuring things out and building their team. Even though it's Nike, they'll still be operating with a limited budget. At the same time, it's obvious they are making a serious entry into the trail running market with two exceptional (and similar) trail shoes: Wildhorse and Kiger. A racing team will help build their brand within the trail running community where other companies already have an established presence.
If you are serious about trying to get a sponsorship from Nike for their trail team, it seems sort of obvious. One, do you have the results to show that you are worthy of a sponsorship? If not, find races and build your trail running resume. Second, a little detective work could put you in contact with Nike. Just based on this thread alone, I'm certain I could get in contact with the right person.
I thought I'd give this a bump...
Just noticed that Alicia Shay is now signed on to the team.
Yeah, where are those damn Canadians and their Nike Trail website??? Oh, because they got their funding pulled! Ha.
The Canadian Team didn't have their funding pulled. That's false.
Way to try to spread rumours!! CLAP CLAP CLAP
Did Alicia Shay race at all this year?
