Why NOP?
Why NOP?
What are his chances Alberto is interested? ZERO. AlSal doesn't take on good talent, he only takes on great talent. Wake everyone up with WG runs 13:20 and actually wins a NCAA title.
I doubt it. Is he more of a 5k/10k or 1500m type? I only see Salazar taking him on in the summer if Abby D signs on seeing as they're both from Dartmouth and Salazar likes to have good team chemistry with the athletes. (He says a rule is after a few days everyone votes, and if a single person says no they don't admit someone into the group)

Good point. It'd be cool if Salazar takes on someone like Lawi or Kithuka. But Lawi will stay in Tucson to work with Li. I have no clue with Kithuka. He's a bit of a wild card. I could see him being self coached, he red shirted last outdoor and was self coaching himself and based off his workouts thought he was in 2710 shape for Pre Classic before having to pull out a couple days before with an injury.
Where do you guys think Kithuka will end up?

Exactly what is the difference between good and great talent?
I really like the way Geoghegan runs. The first 3/4's of his 3:58 mile he looked so smooth and economical...kind of reminds me of the way Centrowitz looks when he runs.
Looks to me like he has a lot of upside potential.

Because he runs smooth? What's the connection?

Was he relaxed?

Sounds that way.

Didn't you mean "Salazar like to have good chemistry with the team's athletes.

Then how did Rupp get in?
Haha looks like we got a jokester here. Rupp is one of the guys, he gets along with his teammates well. They like him even if he is slightly weird.
Geoghegan needs to run a couple seconds faster to be considered. Ulrey showed loads of potential before joining up. Unfortunately, he was probably used up as training fodder, as most NCAA athletes would probably be if they joined with the NOP. Based on that, he shouldn't join up even if he was given the chance.

Jeez, who could stand being nauseated every day from looking at that ugly mug?
Sorry to be rude but how can you possibly know that the other NOP members "like him even if he is slightly weird?" Do you have an inside connection with the Oregon Project? The rest of the NOP could despise Rupp and there is no chance in hell he Salazar would boot him.
Whoops, meant to say "the rest of the NOP could despise Rupp and there is no chance in hell THAT Salazar would boot him."

If he got a few seconds faster on his own, then why would he even need to join NOP? Clearly then his training system would be just fine.
Are you Cam Levins? wrote:

Well sometimes there's pics of the guys hanging out. And in interviews they say they get along and that they're friends and stuff like that. I don't see why they wouldn't like Rupp.
And about Ulrey, I feel sorry for the guy. I remember the first time I ever watched a track meet, Ulrey was in it and won, so I've always liked the guy. Hopefully he's just injury prone and gets it figured out soon. Ritz did well in the NOP system with fixing injuries. I'm hesitant to call someone "training fodder" but compared to Mo, Galen, and Centro it sure looks like it.
He'll stay in Hanover and train with True and Chelanga (if he goes pro). You heard it here first, though, if any Dartmouth man is going to have a professional career, it's John Bleday. He's about to explode. Mark my words.

It's uncouth to post in a thread about yourself, Will.
