In honor of Alan Webb's retirement I've created a list of top-10 moments. What do you think? Did I miss any?
Honorable mention: 4:06 Sophomore Record, Clash with Ritz at Footlocker in 2000, 2 mile American Record at Pre in 2005, 1:43 800m in 2007.
#10 3:59 Indoor High School Record. Webb became the fourth member of the High School sub-4:00 club and the first to do it indoors.
#9 The “Tantrum”

#8 “Going Pro”. Webb leaves Michigan after one “disappointing” season. Only a guy as talented as Webb could win Big10 in both XC and outdoors (he redshirted indoors) and finish 11th and 4th respectively at NCAAs as a freshman and call it a disapointment.
#7 2004 Olympic Trials

Webb absolutely dominates the field to make his first (an unfortunately only) Olympic team.
#6 27:34 10km

Webb displayed his amazing range in taking down Ritz in the 10k at Payton Jordan in 2006.
#5 “The surge”

In the 2005 World Championships Final Webb blasts a sub-13 second 100m halfway through the race. I remember thinking to myself “He does realize there’s still another lap left right?”.
#4 “The Scream”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5i_xNDhOaM
Webb outkicks Lagat, Manzano and Lukezic to win the 2007 USA Championships and lets out the primal scream.
#3 3:30 Paris Diamond League

#2 3:46 American Record
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aTRTvo2ouo
the pinnacle of Webb’s 2007 season. There were more trees than spectators but the time puts him in the top 10 all-time.
#1 3:53 High School Record
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niCWRb29y-E
Was there ever any doubt this was going to be #1? Webb crushes Jim Ryun’s high school record.
