in middle school, watched you break Ryun's record at Pre and take a victory lap with El G. You stayed at the track late to sign everyone's program, including mine. You were an inspiration for my own running. Thank you and good luck, Alan Webb!!

Alan Thicke?
Yes, now run some 120 mile weeks.
there is a lot of bromance going on on these boards since Webb's announcement. It's teetering on the edge of homosexuality.
He should have done better post race workouts immediately following his indoors races.
Webb had an unparalleled passion and talent
Undoubtedly a career anyone would dream for, from high school records to a Diamond League victory. Can not be disappointed in himself
Love you Alan!!
He had the heart of a lion.
Alan was the best, Pre a good second.
Thanks, Alan. Some great moments to live onward. Good luck with your next chapter -

Exactly. That's why everyone loved and hated him so much. He just went hard as f*** and didn't have any facade of 'swag' about him like Centro, Rupp, or whoever. He was a dude that if he lost, he would pretty much go nuts. So when he raced with that in mind he just obliterated everyone. Lagat vs Webb 2007 USA champs. That last 50m of kick is just insane. The reaction afterwards is epic.

Didn't start seriously following US distance running until '08, so I just watched the '07 usatf 1500 champs for the first time. Wow.

Never gets old
And Rupp still lost to Lagat at age 38...
such a badass! alan webb is the man
I think this one is more impressive, I don't think I've ever seen anyone kick down Lagat like this:

Great race pity he never did in in a championship that really matters
I can't find video of the 2004 Home Depot Invite 1500 - anyone able to track it down?
The worst decision Alan ever made was getting that Chinese tattoo. I'm sure he knows that now.
Best of luck in the Tri, Alan.
Alan,
Good luck in whatever you do in the future. Was in the Armory the night you went sub 4 indoors. Leonard Muchero (who won the race) was in shock at the hoopla surrounding your achievement and I was in glory watching you make history. You really burned that old barn down that night.. You singlehanded reenergized middle distance running in this country when it was in the dumps. I don't know what everyone expected from you but you gave me enough thrills to last a very long time. America's greatest prep miler of all time and one of the greatest America milers of all time. who displaced my child hood hero, Jim Ryun. And thanks for the kind words man..
good luck
at some point may you realize that it is okay to give your best and hang it up for real instead of in baby steps
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
