He has been slow for quite some time but recently especially ending 2013 he dropped from recent 67ish half marathon down to 62 I believe. He also just ran a 2:13. You think this lad is still clean?? HELL NO
In support of Aissa, he returned to training over 3 years ago and won his first return race at the 2011 Portland Shamrock 15k Run in 46:41. He won by almost 2 minutes.
In 2012 he ran some good races including a PR for 10 miles and a surprising 9th place finish at the Bix 7. He also dealt with injury problems of trying to do too much, too soon.
In 2013, for the half-marathon, he ran 63:40, 62:35, 67:36, and 63:20. His all-time best is 61:27. The "67ish" half marathon that you referred to was a bad race day for Aissa at the Portland Rock & Roll half marathon. He ran "neck-and-neck" for the last mile and placed 2nd by a second.
In Dec 2013 he ran his first marathon ever in Sacramento: 2:18:13. After running with the leaders through about 23 miles he fell apart in the last 3 miles in sub freezing weather.
About 7 weeks later he ran his 2:13:35 in Dubai. Based on his half marathon times he should be able to go under 2:10 some day.
I think Aissa deserves some support. He seems to be a target which I don't think he deserves.
