One would think that Kenenisa Bekele would excel at Boston as he's the greatest cross country runner ever.
One would think he'd want to run Boston if London doesn't want to pay him what he deserves (because it would mess up London's Mo Farah love fest) as one would think he'd want to compete at a Major.
So that leads to a few questions.
1)Did Boston even try to get Bekele?
2)Does Boston have enough money to come close to getting him? I imagine the answer is no.
3) Even if #2 is true, would Boston get him or would they purposely stay away from a big-time Nike athlete given their adidas ties?
Anyone on the inside know anything?
To me, Bekele running Paris is a sad day in history for the Boston marathon. It shows how far Boston has slipped. 20 years ago, no way in hell a runner of Bekele's stature would go to Paris and not Boston no matter what the reasons were.
