Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the most part, it seems that the NOP runners never get injured with Alberto. Except for Ritz BUT that was before he was with Alberto. Maybe because they have strong resources with nike. This may be the key of success

Treniere did get hurt when in Moscow...
How can you get injured when everything you do is Rupp-certified?
HydroworX shitfaced
Ritz was injured for most for 2010 & basically all of 2011. Eardmann & Moser also were injured this year. Centro also injured in spring 2012. Basically it is just Rupp that stays injury free. Mo too I suppose.
correct mo and rupp

Centro banged his knee on a table. you can't honestly suggest that that was salazar related. also ritz wasn't working with salazar in 2010.

You're wrong.
Apart from Ritz, Treniere Moser missed out on the World Championships this year because of injury. Centrowtiz missed several weeks of training leading up the Olympics last year. Erdmann was also hurt at some point and Dorian Ulrey was injured to the extent that he didn't compete at all outdoors.
So, yes, except for all those listed above.

Yes he was. He announced that he had joined the group back in 2009 after USAs.
See - "Post Collegiate with Alberto Salazar- Summer of 2009 in St. Moritz at 6000ft before WC 10k"

They talk about soft surfaces a lot. And their official trainers are very traditional.
I'm stupid, but this sounds like they reduce as much of the impact forces as possible through their running surfaces and they keep pressure off the Achilles for the majority of their miles.
NOP is big on reduced impact running using AlterG or underwater treadmills and ancillary strength training, which is all a good way to try to reduce injury, but I still think OP's premise is false.
Just to add to the list of Salazar's injured runners, former Olympian Amy Begley had a career ending injury under Salazar, Dan Brown and Adam Goucher were injured under Salazar, as was Caitlin Chock.
If you made a complete list of Alberto's runners, I expect a sizeable majority have missed large amounts of time because of injuries.
In the case of Rupp, you might also say that part of it is that Rupp races so selectively and will DNS any time he has a twinge.
There was a large article about Ritz and his efforts to stay injury free in running times about a year ago. He almost completely avoids running on hard surfaces now. He does all of his outdoor running on trails and soft surfaces (other than track work). He also supplements is outdoor running with the alter-g treadmill.

Yeah ritz has talked about that a lot. There has been some controversy about this when he doesn't perform well during road races

Every runner gets dinged up. They race so little it's hard to tell how many times they have to back off the training a few days. I do agree that the more fitness you can achieve doing non-impact exercise the better.

Um, dopers
That's funny. Just kidding, that's false
Kara was really injured her last year there (the year she became aware of the cheating) then went to Jerry.
Ali Lambie was injured the entire time and retired
Chapa was injured the entire time and retired
Lindsay Allen was injured the entire time for 2 years then went to that Seattle group and I just saw ran 16:20 on the roads.
Dorian Ulrey ran 2 races in 2 years and left
Yoder was injured for 2 years and retired
Cento was banged up, yeah he got silver this year but he also got bronze while in college and he wasn't healthy for a lot of the year
Adam Goucher (injury prone anyway) but he was injured and retired
Dan Browne injuried and retired
Chad Johnson, injured under Salazar, healthy with the Hansons (dude is still racing with them and he's old now)
Tara was injured
So really aside from the golden child and Mo most it seems like people are injured quite a bit.
Use your real name and state exactly who on NOP is doping. Of course you won't. You are a coward.
NOP is the future of training: figure out how to strengthen all your running-specific muscles and perfect your form, without the risk of injury that comes with actual road and track running. Obviously there is no substitute for actual running and you'll still need to do it, just not as much.
If you can show that running on an underwater treadmill with a weighted vest for 8 miles has the same physiological benefits as going on an 8-mile easy run on the concrete, then why go on an 8-mile easy run on concrete? Heck, if you could show me that 2 hrs on an underwater treadmill is equal to 40 minutes on the road, I would endure the boredom for the sake of injury risk reduction.
Increasing mileage on the road is basically playing chicken with your skeletal structure. "50 miles per week and still no stress fractures? Let's try to 60 and see if we're still okay. Dang it! Tibial stress fracture. Gonna have to take 2 months off and then return slowly. I must not have been taking enough calcium supplements."
Imagine if, instead, you could have unimpeded forward progress in your training. You could all-out on an underwater treadmill, do it for 3 hrs a day if you pleased, and still be building as much running strength as you would if you were running on the road.
lol..
it'd be a great idea to reduce risk of stress fractures
spend all your time underwater..then hit the roads!
last time I checked impact strengthens bones
throw In a bit of testosterone and growth hormone..
Yep. NOP takes the sport to the next level with its resources and whatnot, which is why they're successful. I don't get why some of you hate on them when the program is good for the sport.
