Where in Canada would you live?
Vancouver or Toronto

Vancouver is your answer.
Montreal
Vancouver and Toronto would be fantastic as well
There is only one choice. Vancouver.
The key words though are "if you could". Basically, you can't unless you are very well off.
Vancouver real estate is ridiculously priced. Even higher than Calgary. Canada real estate in general is ridiculously priced compared to it's neighbour down south.
Vancouver has few and mostly low paying jobs.
Vancouver food prices are the highest in Canada.
Good luck.
Edmonton. Well over a hundred miles of beautiful trails in the middle of the city. Great running community. Two 200m indoor tracks. Hosted the 78 Commonwalth Games, the 83 World Student Games and the 2001 IAAF World Championships. It is cold in the winter but perfect in the summer. In the summer, the sun doesn't set until around 10:00 pm. Most underrated city in North America.

I've lived in Edmonton for 20 years. No question, the running community is second to none, in fact our trail system is fantastic (I've run in cities all over the world, where maybe the scenery is better, but NO ONE has more/better/longer trails than Edmonton and I always prefer running at home!).
But in almost every other aspect, living here is difficult. We don't just have a long winter, it's inhospitable much of the time, and even if you hate the treadmill, sometimes there is no other option (other than not running).
Another downside is the roads. Because of the cold winters and hot summers, they always have pot holes and there is always road construction. Not to mention, the roads are populated by rude redneck drivers.
I've been to every major/capitol city in Canada and the only one I'd prefer is Vancouver, but you have to be a millionaire to live IN the city, and it rains all year, which would probably we worse than the weather we have in Edmonton (it's cold but at least sunny most of the time).
I think the best option for me is stay in Edmonton for the 5-6 months that we don't have snow, and live in Arizona the rest of the time.
Whistler or Toronto.
Banff.
Banff would be my answer for much of the year, but for winter, Vancouver would be more tolerable
Vancouver or Toronto, though Montreal is a beautiful city.
The Rockies would be a beautiful place to live but they are full of rednecks.
I've lived in almost all the major cities (except Edmonton and Calgary).
My ranking would be:
Vancouver
Ottawa
Montreal
Toronto
Every other city on Earth
Halifax

Maybe Halifax.
Vancouver, maybe spend some time in Banff in the summer. Edmonton may be nice in the summer (I don't know but can imagine), but it's surely miserable the rest of the year for most people. It's honestly kind of amazing to me that such a large community exists all the way up there so far from the coast or any other major cities.
Speaking of Edmonton, I'm visiting Edmonton next week. Anyone want to race me Letsrace.com style?
Best country in the world. Sure kicks Americas butt. Socialism ftw!
Victoria/Vancouver Island or Vancouver.

You got to be kidding me. Rednecks in Banff? Hardly. The rednecks live in the pulp mill towns of B.C. Not in Banff or Whistler. Wealthy trendy people life in Banff, Canmore and Whistler.
Pulp mill towns, however==rednecks and nepotism. Nepotism guarantees you won't get a job in these places. Much like surf culture.
Actually, Banff is frequently full of Japanese tourists. Often it seems like almost everyone is either Japanese or American. And BTW, it's not as cold in the winter as you might think: Rarely below zero even at night. But there's no track, so I can't live there.
Vancouver would be great if it wasn't for the abysmal traffic.
It would have to be the Canadian Embassy in Sydney.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
