Lipscomb??? Anyone know? The kid they had doing operations was only there one semester. They hired the guy from King (Peter someone), and then he decided to quit and go back to King. Then they hired some kid that had been volunteering at Tennessee, and now he's gone after only a few months. Seems like a decent job, but they're rolling through people here...
Anyone know what UMAINE ever ended up doing? Did they hire anyone for the position or are they going to re-open it later in the spring?

Lipscomb is a revolving door for assistant coaches. This reflects poorly on the entire track and field program. No stability is a very bad sign.

They hired somebody about 2 weeks ago.
Any clue who?

Uh, take a look at the Lipscomb Track web page listing coaches. All but one assistant coach has been there for three years or longer.
Program is on the rise and getting better every season. The evidence would indicate the program is nothing close to a revolving door for assistant coaches.
Know your facts before you post.
This. They hired Peter from King U., and that dude flaked out and went running back to King after six weeks. Then they hired a kid from Bryan College who had some volunteer experience (minimal) at UT under his old coach (Stoker) and he got canned for messing around with an athlete. Maybe a bad hire, but certainly doesn't mean it's a revolving door. They just hired another young guy, this time an alumni, but it's an operations/asst. men's distance position, so I imagine no one is looking to stay in that role real long, and I'm sure it doesn't pay much.
Lipscomb is a great school and a pretty good program. Your criticisms sound like sour grapes.
What is open?

Peter Dalton left a few days after his hire for personal reasons. Goetz did not mess around with an athlete. He left on good terms.

Please watch your mouth when throwing accusations like that. Goetz is a good guy and coach and had his reasons for leaving. He never messed w any athletes. Stop spreading lies idiot
Peter may have left a few days later, but it wasn't announced for 6 weeks or so. And I think that guy was just summarizing what was already reported in this thread. Someone else claimed Goetz was fooling around with an athlete about 2 pages back. Just saying.
That's true. This was posted weeks ago, why didn't you guys jump on it then?? Whether it's true or not doesn't matter in the end. Goetz lasted a semester and it's open again. Low-paying gig and you aren't gonna get someone there long term. They just hired a young alumni so I'd expect that to be the trend moving forward.
It's me, the p-i-m-p

You do realize that most assistant coaching positions are a) lower paying and b) not long term. Most assistant coaches are hoping to move up the ladder and become a head coach somewhere eventually. It is expected that assistant coahes everywhere move on. And there are only a handful of assistant coaching positions in collegiate track & field that "pay well", whatever that means.
Uhhhh... Did you actually read what I wrote? Because you basically just said the same thing I did. It's as if you're trying to contradict me, but instead you said exactly the same thing I did. You should probably spend a little more time in your English class working on your comprehension.
Reread the part where I said "Low-paying gig and you aren't going to get someone in there long term." Idiot. Then you put "pay well" in quotes, despite the fact that I never wrote that. The trend I was referring to is that they'll likely continue to hire alumni as those coaches move on. You catch up yet?

Nope. Quit trying to spread this rumor crap around. The situation wasn't a good fit for Goetz and that was the extent of it. Like someone else said earlier, he left on perfectly good terms. He'll make a great coach someday.
The head coach there is a bit of a nut, quite the ego maniac while somehow spewing off about Christian values, in a bit of a comical hypocrisy. I can understand why people don't stay very long, especially on the distance side- both coaches and athletes. Taylor has quite the reputation around Nashville about his crazy training methods. Nobody has graduated from Lipscomb without requiring surgery or at least 2-3 years of no running at all before their bodies are recovered enough to even start running again, much less keep training.
It was only a matter of time before some jerk started posting a bunch of crap that has absolutely no basis in reality. Success stokes the fires of jealousy.
Fact is, that program is on the rise big time. Kids there PR by massive amounts, they win, and by all accounts enjoy the experience thoroughly.
Taylor has had success everywhere he has been and has a stellar reputation in Nashville and beyond, and uses very standard training methods. He is definitely not an ego maniac.
The stuff you post about surgery and recovery are just plain lies. For what reason? Show proof.
Why do people like you enjoy spreading lies and false rumors? Why do you enjoy trying to damage good people and good programs. Lipscomb was horrible seven years ago. It's not now. Have you talked to their kids? Have you talked to their coach? Do you know a single thing you are talking about?
They've had one coach actually leave after being on the job, Goetz, who interestingly has had four coaching gigs in less than four years and hasn't lasted a full year at any of them.
WHO CARES!!!??? Now let's get back to Job Openings! What else is open out there and what's the word?
Back to the jobs...
Fairmont State (WV D2) just posted.
Word on the "Street" is that David Dumble (ASU Asst) is new head guy at WSU... I would love to see WSU get a solid distance coach. But that won't happen if Dumble is the new head coach.
