USATF and USATFCCCA is a crock. Even after attending these classes, coaches will go back to their programs and run it the same way they did before they went to the classes... it is simply something to put on a resume.
I know of a head coach who went to the sprints classes and he still only have his sprinters run 200s for their sprint training.
Well, if you look at track coaches' job descriptions, you are required to develop, instruct, educate, so you actually need to have knowledge on how to do that. That's a fact! As coach, you need to keep your athletes happy by helping them to achieve their goals. If not, they'll go to your administration and they're not going to be happy about not keeping them happy.
On the other hand: Networking can only take you so long these days when nobody is loyal to nobody anymore.

http://www.areavibes.com/fullerton-ca/cost-of-living/If you do decide to check out CSUF, good luck. Both men's and women's teams are consistently at the bottom of the conference in both Cross Country AND Track. There is currently only the Head Coach, who has been there for a long long time, in charge of both genders of cross country and track and there has been minimal success for a long long time. Sounds like a fun project. Cheers.

Looks like John Elders threw his entire coaching staff under the bus. He was forced to fire everyone. The CSUF administration is too dumb to realize that their problem is still there. And things will not get better at CSUF until the head coach is fired.
What's strange with the Cal Fullerton situation is that Brandon Campbell who helped Adams State to a national title on 2012, and he's alum..why would his former head coach and a coach he worked for throw him under a bus to admin... Then Brandit Cooper is a good coach also. Not sure if the postings are anything more then technicality or something bc she just returned from finishing an IAAF certificate.
In other news,Penn State HC opened. They have a few coaches on staff that have HC experience. They might not need to look far to find their person if they want to make things easy.
Army job just opened. Troy Engle took position in Singapore.
West Point will be opening soon: http://www.goarmysports.com/sports/c-track/spec-rel/070714aaa.html

From an administrative standpoint, you have a guy who is not only in charge of the cross country teams but also the track teams. To replace him would be more difficult for administration. It's unfortunate because the sprinters and field athletes seemed to be performing much better relative to the distance runners.
Must be difficult for the athletes.
