Air Force distance job will open up on Monday afternoon. I heard that info in Eugene a few days ago in the coaches area.
Is Benson going somewhere? She has really done well at USAFA with a NCAA xc appearance for the men this year which had not been done in a while. She even got a girl to the national meet in the 800m, which I think is tough for a service academy. Although I think the 800m girl was the only qualifyer for both team.
I can't see any reason she would be forced out. Does she have another job lined up, somewhere she would rather be? Or are they looking to replace Benson's young assistant?
I also saw nothing posted today. Anyone close to the program know anything, other than NCAA meet rumors? Front runneres?
Sad to see one of the good guys go.

I knew Sagnelli from his Iona days. Great all around guy. Congrats on a great career.
I believe the Air Force job everyone is referring is the assistant distance coach. I thick this has been open for sometime now.

Who are the rumored top candidates at Notre Dame and Ohio State. These are two monster jobs and are not being discussed at all? Who is in the mix?
They are "monster jobs" that pay nothing compared to similar jobs (yes, Notre Dame job is for a Director for both programs). At least at Ohio State, you can get any dumba$$ in the door for cheap...Notre Dame gets zero admission slots and it aint cheap...
Isn't the big question here why did Gibby get fired? So much was made of a press release when Joe Lynn was fired but what did Gibby do? He was well respected and liked.

We'll respected and liked? By who? I'm betting Jerry Clayton isn't on that list.

Wait! Doesn't this thread call for Dennis to be fired every year???
Now she is the second ever female director of a combined program at a BCS school?
This is Russ Rogers 2.0
That didn't go all that well. Here's hoping that this will be better, but the prevailing thought in Ohio is that it won't.
